On March 3, 2011, the biggest earthquake ever measured in Japan hit the North-East part of the country, also called Tohoku. This earthquake had the consequence to generate a gigantic tsunami that hit the coast of the Miyagi prefecture.
I was already living in Tokyo for several months when this tragedy happened and I decided to stay in Japan even when many people left the country. In August 2011, I joined a volunteer association and I went 1 week in the city of Kesennuma, at the North of Miyagi prefecture. I was happy to give a little help to a country I love and that gave me so much. That gave me the opportunity to see with my own eyes how was the situation and to live an unforgettable experience where I could see people coming from different parts of Japan and the world working all together with locals to make life just a little bit better and enjoyable for everyone.
After living 3 months in Japan I couldn't stay and had to leave. I decided to turn this annoying situation in a great experience by travelling for 1 month in South-East Asia, in September 2010, before going back to Japan.
I already had my flight ticket in advance from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur where I only spent few days. After that I wanted to concentrate more on Thailand and Cambodia. I had some ideas before going to Malaysia but I fixed my schedule while I was travelling in this amazing part of the world. In Krabi, Phnom-Penh, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Angkor and others I discovered a different Asia full of beautiful colors, tastes and smiles.
Please enjoy my story in this continent I love very much.
South America was a dream for a very long time that has been realised. We have travelled in Peru at the end of 2009 and this is a new beautiful trip that is detailed in the new section about Peru.
The trip was too short to fully discover this amazing country but it was enough to spend a wonderful time and to create a new dream: to discover more about this continent rich in culture and wonders.

We have travelled all around Europe (Eastern Europe and Scandinavia) with the Global InterRail pass from the 14th of July to the 12th of August 2006, 1 month and thousands of kilometres covered in 15 countries. It wasn't easy everyday but it was always great experiences and of course many things to tell and many pictures to show.
